OUR SERVICES

A PLACE TO VISIT CATS

Purrmaid Cafe and Adoption Center provides a comfortable place to visit cats for those who may not be in the position to own one. It also allows potential adopters a no-pressure opportunity to interact with our cats as often as they'd like before committing to the care of one for the rest of its life. Visits cost $6 per person per half hour. Seniors 65+ can visit for half an hour for free on Wednesdays. Please be sure to sign our waiver (see the Forms page).

                                                                                        VISITATION POLICIES

To ensure the safety and well-being of our cats and our visitors, we have updated our visitation policies. These updates go into effect on 3/22/2023. (Reservations made prior to this date which do not conform to these policies will be honored.)

  • No more than 8 visitors are allowed in the cat room at any time.

  • Children must be at least 7 years old to visit the cats.

  • One adult must accompany every two children under the age of 13.

  • We allow no more than 4 children under the age of 13 in the cat room at any time.

  • Adults must actively monitor their children (i.e., not spend the time answering emails, texting, etc.)

We work hard to create an atmosphere that is calm and welcoming for our guests. In the same way, we strive to keep our cats’ stress level low. For this reason, we reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the lounge at any time if the house rules are not being followed, without expectation of a refund.

Purrmaid has a zero tolerance policy for any individual who is causing distress to the animals. It’s a rare occasion for us to have to ask someone to leave. We’d like to keep it that way.

 HOUSE RULES

Our rules are meant to allow everyone, our cats and visitors alike, to have a great time. Please note, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave if they do not follow the rules or are disruptive, without expectation of refund.

  • Children 13 years and younger be accompanied by an adult. There must be one adult for every two children. It is the adults’ responsibility to ensure the children follow the rules.

  • Use hand sanitizer before entering and upon leaving the cat room.

  • Please watch for cats when you open the door to enter or exit the cat room.

  • Eating and drinking food bought at the café is allowed, but please do not share with the cats (no matter what they may tell you). Please report any spills immediately. No outside food, toys, or treats are allowed.

  • Please be gentle and respectful with the cats.

  • Cats can get scared easily! Please no running, jumping, chasing, throwing.

  • No loud noises. Cats appreciate a calm atmosphere.

  • Please leave sleeping or hiding cats alone.

  • Please do not pick up the cats.

  • Pet at your own risk! Keep the petting to the cat’s head and upper body. Refrain from touching their stomachs—it’s a trap!

  • Please let us know if a cat scratches or bites you so we may supply first aid.

  • Humans may not climb on the furniture or the shelves.

  • Take all the pictures/videos you’d like, but please, no flash.

SPECIAL EVENTS

We often hold after-hours fundraisers, such as bingo nights and tarot reading nights. Small private gatherings such as birthday parties may also be booked for times that we are not open to the public. Please call for availability and pricing.
